About This Class
The Fundamentals by ViolinSchool is our original workshop, running now for over 10 years, for violinists of any age and level - from first timers to advanced players.
The workshop is made up of two hour-long sessions that explore the essential principles of good violin playing, and get you playing comfortably and confidently on the violin - whatever your age or experience level.
Class Fees
Member rate (Premium & above): FREE
Member rate (Premium & above): $13 / €11 / £10
Non-Member rate: $79 / €69 / £59 (includes 1 month of membership and unlimited class repeats).
Class Curriculum
The Violin Fundamentals sessions are workshops that always centre around these core topics:
Session 1: Posture, Breathing, The Bowhold and Bowing Arm, Bow Strokes and Tone Production
Session 2: Bowing, Changing the Sound, Practice and Performance Skills.
Who is the Violin Fundamentals class for?
Anyone who wants to refine their core techniques and bowing!
For Beginners: the Fundamentals is a perfect 'taster' course if you'd like to see if the violin is right for you ... and an essential foundation if you've already decided to commit to learning the violin!
In just a couple of hours you'll be able to play all the strings of the violin with a beautiful sound, and perform to others with clarity and confidence.
For Restarters: reawaken everything you once learnt about how to play the violin!
For Intermediate Players and above: Check your core technique is free, flexible, relaxed and consistent! Revise the fundamentals of smooth bowing, troubleshoot any posture or tension issues, and generate a beautiful sound ... every time!
