ViolinSchool is coming back

We started ViolinSchool to provide structured, high quality online learning, in a friendly accessible way, for people who want to be the best they can be. That was back in 2010, when online learning was still finding its feet. We were running group tuition via Zoom — or at least trying to! — years before the pandemic made it normal. Ahead of our time, perhaps.

Our UK school has since found its own identity — it’s now StringSchool, with a dedicated website and a clear focus on group tuition for Adult Beginners in London and Manchester. You’ll find it here.

So ViolinSchool is returning to its original purpose: an online learning platform designed to help anyone, anywhere, learn the violin.

A lot has changed. Some things haven’t.

A lot has changed since 2010. AI is transforming how we learn and how we grow. The formats that made sense in the early 2010s don’t map neatly onto the world we’re in now. So we’re asking ourselves: what does a great online school actually look like today?

Some things haven’t changed. Our guiding forces of Creativity, Community, Curiosity and Critical Thinking are as essential today as when we first started. We have a deep respect for the foundational ideas that stand the test of time — not everything needs reinventing.

So we’re starting here, with a blog. The rest will follow.
