If you've played the violin before, and would like to start playing again, you'll be pleasantly surprised at how much you remember - your understanding of rhythm and pitch never fades!

However, your main focus when returning to the violin will be on:

1) Re-activating your existing technical skills, and re-learning the physical movements

2) Checking everything against a curriculum to make sure there are no missing topics or skill areas

3) Building beyond what you previously achieved.

For almost all adult learners returning to the violin after some time away, we would recommend starting by revising the fundamental principles of good violin playing (and, if necessary, music notation and theory).

Please take a look at our 'Fundamentals' classes, which are designed especially for this purpose:

Violin Fundamentals & Music Fundamentals

Once you've revised the Fundamentals, you'll be ready to move on to a full course!

If you're restarting from Beginner level, you should consider starting with Course A or Course B.

If you're restarting from Intermediate level, you should consider starting with Course C or Course D.

If you're restarting at an Advanced level, then the Technique and Repertoire classes will probably be the best choice for you!

If you're ready to get started, you can register for The Fundamentals today, and start learning straight away!

Or, if you're ready to embark on a full course, register for a Full Enrolment, which includes all Fundamentals classes at no extra cost.

Our Learning Advisors can help you to quickly understand your current experience level, and decide which course is right for you. Talk to us today! You can email [email protected], or send us a message using the form below. We look forward to helping you with your learning!
